We all experience mental health challenges in our lives, so why is accessing support still so stigmatized and archaic?
We are Coa: a venture-backed startup building the mental health experience that the 21st century needs, and leveraging technology to bring it to life. We're building the world’s first mental health & emotional fitness studio offering therapy and emotional fitness classes in a thoughtfully designed atmosphere that encourages connection and community.
Before we open our physical doors, we’re meeting the community where they are with a digital emotional fitness platform for therapist-led classes and community.
Emotional Fitness Instructor (Part-Time)
We're seeking experienced & licensed therapists to help us give society permission to feel. Our therapist-led emotional fitness classes help people learn the skills needed for mental and emotional health. As an emotional fitness instructor, you will work with us to develop and facilitate material based on the 7 traits of emotional fitness: self-awareness, empathy, play, mindfulness, communication, curiosity, and resilience. Our classes are interactive & experiential bringing together didactic, experiential, and discussion components.
How you’ll spend your time:
- Collaborate with our team of therapists on the emotional fitness curriculum team to develop and test ongoing new content and format for classes
- Facilitate multiple classes per week (Monday-Friday) for our corporate clients and our consumer-facing community
- Host live Q&As for our community on core emotional fitness and mental health topics (e.g., overcoming Imposter Syndrome, managing anxiety, romantic relationships, & more!)
- Rapidly iterate on class content and structure based on participant feedback
- Helping Coa grow and excel in ways that match your strengths and experience (e.g., contributing to press articles and blog posts, public speaking opportunities)
You’ll be successful with us if:
- You have a graduate degree in clinical psychology or counseling, and have some training in psychodynamic theory
- You are licensed by a regulating body to independently practice psychology (eg., Board of Psychology, Board of Behavioral Sciences, etc.)
- You have experience and strong skills related to group facilitation and/or teaching and/or public presentations
- You have a knack for explaining complex concepts clearly and concisely
- You have strong time management skills
- You are comfortable using Zoom and its various features
- A nice to have, but not required, is if you have experience working in a client-facing role in corporate settings
